With the changing times, private interferences have been increasing and taking a great leap into the future of aviation industry. Apart from appreciating the importance of the private companies into the aviation sector, it is also important to know as to how it really works when it comes to the ones employed in this industry by the private men, the kind of jobs that are performed by these mechanics, the circumstances under which these mechanics operate, what is the real cause that forces these mechanics to work for private individuals and also the kind of benefits and support that they get from their employers.

When we refer to a helicopter mechanic we mean a person who is responsible for looking after the three bladed flying giant. His duty is to look after and maintain the helicopter, both physically and technically. If one is a mechanic it is not necessary that he needs to be a pilot. But he should have some knowledge about flying as well since his livelihood is associated with the flying office. At the time of appointment of these mechanics what is kept in mind is the fact is that he is not scared of the height, and is confident enough to deal with any kind of catastrophe if it occurred anytime in their lives. Work experience is bound to count. Any employer taking in any mechanic would prefer a skilled mechanic rather than choosing an unskilled one. The unskilled mechanics are appointed as trainees. Their salaries and packages are dependent on their skills and talents.

When it comes to their work, it is divided into four stages. In the first stages these mechanics are supposed to clean the helicopters. All the rubbish is removed from the helicopters by them. In the second stage these mechanics are to check each and every part of the helicopter although it forms an important part of the job for the pilot. In order to have confidence in their work these mechanics call one another to check their work done respectively. In the third stage these mechanics are expected not to play with the flying bird but keep them ready so that the professionals can do the needful and take them into the blue sky for a ride. The days for these mechanics end with a post ride on the helicopter and that brings an end to their four staged work.

When we talk about the relationship between the pilot and mechanic one can say that both are inter-dependent. They can't move a step ahead without each other's cooperation. Private enterprises are mostly interested in hiring these mechanics. They pay and make them work double of their salaries. And these mechanics are bound to work as they have no other options in this field.
